American rock supergroup A Perfect Circle was formed in 1999 by Ashes Divide guitarist Billy Howardell and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, and its original incarnation also consisted of: Pax Lenchantin (bass guitarist, vocalist and violinist, The Pixies), Troy Van Leeuwen (guitarist, Queens of the Stoneage) and Tim Alexander (drummer, Primus). Currently, the band's line-up is as follows: Maynard James Keenan, Billy Howardel, Pax Lenchantin (bass guitarist, vocalist and violinist, The Pixies), Troy Van Leeuwen (guitarist, Queens of the Stoneage) and Tim Alexander (drummer, Primus). A Perfect Circle has released three studio albums, as well as a live album, and a greatest hits album to date.
