Currently holding the record as first group to have seven consecutive number-one albums on the Billboard 200, Dave Matthews Band is an American rock group that began in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991. Originally, the group made its name as a college band, playing coffee shops and frat houses before growing a larger following and beginning to tour nationally. Their debut studio album, Under the Table and Dreaming was released in 1994, launching three hit singles and earning the band four Grammy Award nominations. The group's popularity continued to grow over the years, with more hit singles and commercially successful albums, as well as memorable live shows featuring improvisational sets. To date, Dave Matthews Band has sold more than 100 million tickets since its inception and a collective 91 million CDs and DVDs combined. Their most recent release is 2018's Come Tomorrow, their ninth studio album to date.
