Don’t be put off by the unusual name, this Camden bar and restaurant is a local favorite, serving traditional cheesesteaks with local craft beers and a range of other beverages. Donkey’s Place is 2 miles from the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. But with the likes of the New York Times naming Donkey’s Place in their top 10 for best sandwiches in America, it’s definitely worth giving this place a try while in the area.

Spasso Italian Grill
For authentic Italian cuisine, Spasso Italian Grill on S Front St, Old City is one of the best around. Serving traditional dishes from their open kitchen, the menu includes New York strip steak, grilled jumbo prawn, and pasta classics such as rigatoni meatballs, linguine carbonara, and ravioli. Prices are fairly reasonable for Philadelphia, and you can often get a midweek deal for 3-course dinners.

Kalaya
Thai restaurant Kalaya in Fishtown on West Palmer Street was named in Philadelphia Magazine’s Top 50 Restaurants in Philadelphia, as well as Timeout’s Top 20 Best Restaurants in Philly. They were also awarded a Best Chef Mid-Atlantic James Beard Award, so this is a highly acclaimed restaurant. 
If you enjoy Thai cooking and dishes such as lamb massaman curry or seafood stir fry then Kalaya shouldn’t disappoint, although slightly pricier than some alternative Thai restaurants in Philly.

Moshulu
For a unique dining experience, hop aboard the Moshulu restaurant, situated within a Tall Ship on the Delaware River. The ship is not just famous for its culinary offerings, it has also featured in Rocky and The Godfather Part II movies. The menu includes dishes like Lobster pot pie, Swordfish, and the legendary ‘Admiral’s Plateau’ which is a seafood medley of oysters, chilled shrimp, and tuna tartare.
